MEET THE ARTIST
Welcome !
For more than 20 years, Watercolor Artist Terry Rourke, Owner of Choate Studio, has been painting watercolors of New England landmarks and scenes, creating artful gifts, and fulfilling unique custom painting commissions to the delight of a loyal following.
Terry C. Rourke is a registered architect and artist and owner of Choate Studio. The business began in Sudbury, MA and has recently relocated to Los Angeles. Ms. Rourke plans to maintain the business as she will be traveling often to the Boston area. She has been designing and developing residential architecture and painting architectural watercolors in New England for 20 years.
Ms. Rourke has a degree in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University and a Masters of Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. She studied architecture during graduate school throughout Europe and discovered a passion for sketching and painting the sites and buildings of Switzerland, Germany, France and Italy. She was employed in architecture offices in Boston, Chicago, and Indianapolis until the births of her three children. She has since been designing residential architecture and painting the sites of New England.

Painting landscapes with pastels provides an artist to use color to high effect. Sometimes I choose one color to create harmony in a painting, in other works I’ll introduce a contrasting color to add excitement and energy.

Custom Orders
For custom watercolor painting inquiries, please use the UPLOAD button to the left to share with me photos of your home or location. Be sure to include close ups of your front door, windows, gardens & exterior lamps. I will contact you after receipt to discuss the details of your order! Order lead time typically runs 2-3 weeks, however, to guarantee receipt of a custom painting for the Christmas holiday season, orders must be placed no later than October 15th. Thank you!
